This is the first shot of a close up photo-study of a 50 year old textile machine. here you can see rows of similar machines (I will move onto a singular one later in the uploads).
This textile factory is located Amman, Jordan. here the fabric that is used in the traditional Arabic headdress is manufactured, in the picture you can see here the red and white coloured fabric is being made.
The factory itself has been producing a form of cultural identity for more than 50 years and now it is slowly closing down due to low demand because the Jordanian population is becoming more globalised.
