Jerusalem: Church of the holy sepulchre outsideby ~Mgsblade

Here we have the exterior entrance of the Church of the holy sepulchre at 2 am, I was actually wondering around the old city and decided to find the mosque of Omar when I found it I also found the doors of the church open and people inside, it was Sunday and they had midnight mass!

So the story goes, when the the caliph Omar bin khattab took the city some Muslims encouraged him to pray inside the church, but he said no because others would convert the site into a mosque, and chose a small plot outside the walls of the church compound which became the mosque of Omar and whose green glow of the minaret covers the upper part of the church as you can see in the picture!
