The interior doorway of the Mausoleum of Mouley Ismaïl in Meknes, Morocco.

One of the most influential characters in Moroccan history, remnants of his legacy can be seen all over Morocco, architectural and otherwise.

known as the Warrior King, it is said that he had his own slave breeding program to which he built the city of Meknes which was known as the "Versailles of Morocco".
