"She Measures time not by days and months and years, but by the empires she has seen rise and crumble to ruin. she is a type of immortality... Damascus has seen all that ever occurred on earth and still she lives . she had looked upon the dry bones of a thousand empires , and will see the tombs of a thousand more before she dies" -- Mark Twain

Another of my night shots, in the old city of Damascus in Syria

My name is Altair. My nature is the silence of death. My thought is as the wind. My tool is the Blade of the Assassins. I am there and gone like a flash of lightning across a stormy sky. No man is a match for me. I am the agent of change.
Beautiful shot and title.

Gorgeous street, something I'd love to visit and walk in. Love the colours, they're so intense!

Beautiful, love it.... nice shot!
Does it feel a bit spooky to you? I don't know if it's the abience, but it's almost as if you can hear the voices of all the people from the past that have stepped foot in that alleyway. I'll bet some really famous people have gone down there are some point or another. Spooky to think even over a thousand years ago it's likely someone would have traced the steps you make today :) Obviously, without the digital camera...

Great shot, the hint of blue adds an eerie feel to the photograph.
