I was thinking about this shot and said to myself that no one has ever commented and that maybe I should place it in my featured picture, when I went to look for it, I found out why I never got any comments....I NEVER UPLOADED IT!!! :bucktooth:

Anyway This is an old Syrian house taken back in January, it overlooks a stream/waterway.

When it was originally built the stream used to be a river that was diverted to encircle the citadel of Damascus, to which the homes now face, since then the waterway only fills in the spring .

lol yeah! haram inno battal fee shi! I took this bi shitta and it had rained! apparently they diverted the river years ago! bas when I went last spring the other side (3ind baab tooma) the river had loads of water in it!

In the beginning...in fact, some books liken it to the ultimate oasis- of course none of that exists any more the forests surrounding the old city have been eaten away by urban expansion.
